Local Sporting Facilities

Penrith and Blacktown host a range of state-of-the-art sporting facilities including the Penrith International Sports Centre and the Blacktown International Sports Park.

Set on 178 hectares of native and landscaped parklands, the Penrith International Sports Centre won international acclaim while hosting the 2000 Olympic Games. In 2016, it will be home to Australia’s most inspirational sporting event, this multi-use sporting venue provides a unique experience with the highest quality sporting facilities. The parklands are also open to the public seven days a week from sunrise to sunset.

The Blacktown International Sportspark was developed as a major playing and training venue for Athletics, Baseball and Softball for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. The venue is utilised by a range of elite sporting groups including the Sydney Blue Sox Australian Baseball and the Western Sydney Wanderers FC. In 2016, the venue will host the Australian Transplant Games Athletics program.
