Medical & Insurance
Medical Certificate
In order to compete at the Games you need to complete a signed medical certificate from your doctor dated in August 2008 and sent back to Transplant Australia by Friday 5 September 2008.
Dialysis Patients
Dialysis patients should organise their own treatment in the same way they would normally do when taking a holiday.
Medical Seminar
A medical Information Seminar will be held on Wednesday 8 October at the Xanten Theatre in Queens Park with transport provided to and from all hotels and the Belmont Sport and Recreation Club.
All participants at the Games are invited to attend, i.e. transplant recipients, dialysis patients, people with cystic fibrosis, those awaiting a transplant, donor families, living donors and supporters.
A panel of highly qualified doctors will be available to discuss a range of medical issues. It is intended that at least half of the time allocated will be for questions you wish to raise – people who would like to submit questions for the seminar beforehand may write to Dr Daryl Wall, Transplant Australia's Medical Director – 22 Cluden Street, Holland Park QLD 4121.
Medical Assistance at the Games
Medical assistance will be provided at all sporting venues for the duration of the games.
Insurance
